First Floors

Below is detailed accessibility information for the first floors of Angell, Haven, Mason, and Tisch Hall.

Angell Hall

  • No ramps on the first floor. Wheelchair access via elevator from ground floor or floors above in angell hall. 
  • Two elevators
  • Push to open door available for Newnan Academic Advising Center
  • Angell Hall living room not wheelchair accessible
  • Living room has marble tables. Stair cushioned seating is available. High top chairs, couch chairs, etc.
  • Area to comprehensive studies and offices on first floor currently blocked off due to construction, so accessible ramp to tisch hall unavailable. 
  • Newnan Academic Advising Center has stairs that lead into Mason Hall
  • Restrooms:
    • No automatic push to open doors available
    • Wheelchair accessible stall available
  • Ceilings tiles are detailed squares that are beige, gold, tan, and silver
  • Flooring tiles are light and dark grey color
  • Stone walls and posts
  • Overhead Chandeliers and wall sconces provide dim lighting

Haven Hall

  • Ramp to tisch hall, no push to open door to entrance but both doors are normally propped open
  • Spacious hallway with limited people
  • Dull white lighting and dull yellow lighting
  • Conference rooms are small and chairs are close together
  • History Department Center:
    • Doors usually closed, no push to open
    • Carpeted floor grey color and white tiles
    • Chairs and one bench in hallway
    • Windows on end
    • There is one classroom and many offices
  • Restrooms
    • Wheelchair accessible for both women, men, and gender inclusive but only push button for women
    • Large stall available for wheelchair users in all restrooms

Mason Hall

  • This floor contains classrooms and the LSA Honors Program Administrative & Advising Offices that is all accessible via elevator and stairs
    • LSA Honors Program Administrative & Advising: 1303, 1306, 1315, 1330, 1331
    • Classrooms: 1339, 1359, 1401, 1427, 1436, 1437, 1448, 1449, 1460, 1469 
  • This floor connects to Haven Hall at the south end of the building
  • This floor connects to Angell Hall on the west end of the building
    • To get to Angell Hall on this floor, you have to go through the LSA Honors Program Administrative & Advising Offices, which aren’t necessarily open to walk through by the general public
  • The doors at the entrance of the LSA Honors Program Administrative & Advising Offices open towards the hallway; past the entrance the flooring switches to carpeting
  • The hallways are spacious and aren’t very crowded unless it is a transition period between class periods; generally a more quiet space
  • There are benches in the hallway and in between classrooms for students to sit to wait for classes and do homework
  • The floor is tiled both in the hallways, bathrooms, and the classrooms
  • All the doors on the floor open towards the interior of the classroom with no push-to-open options
  • Setup regarding chair sand tables in the classrooms on this floor vary
    • Generally classrooms hold anywhere between 18-56 students depending on the size of the room and the orientation
    • Classrooms have white lighting
  • Bathrooms
    • There is a male and a female bathroom on this floor
    • The male restroom has one heavier door in the entrance that opens into the interior of the restroom – no push-to-open option
    • The female restroom has two heavier doors that open towards the interior of the bathroom – no push-to-open option
      • In the women’s restroom, there are a plethora of stalls – one is bigger that provides more space within the stall
    • The room has more yellow lighting with slight white undertones
    • The floor is tiling
    • There is no gender-neutral bathroom on this floor

Tisch Hall

  • Accessible through ramp from angel hall or elevators from ground floor(ramp is smooth with a layer of thin cardboard covering the tile)
  • Ramp to haven hall, no push to open door to entrance but doors are usually propped open
  • Spacious hallway with limited people
  • Red, beige, and black marble tile
  • Dull white lighting
  • History Department Center:
    • Doors usually propped open, no push to open
    • Carpeted floor dark brown/black color and beige tiles
    • Chairs, tables(low to ground)
    • Windows in main office
  • Restrooms
    Wheelchair accessible for both men and women but no push button
    There are directions in front of bathrooms to A PRIVATE, ACCESSIBLE, GENDER-INCLUSIVE RESTROOM IS AVAILABLE: HAVEN HALL 1632
